Ford 640 Hydraulics

I just purchased a 1954 Ford 640. I put my bush hog on it, and the hydraulics go up, but do not come down. Also, just as soon as I shut off the tractor, they go down. Any suggestions as to the two problems. How difficult are they fix. When I returned to the barn, my wife was having sex with Hyde Mannings, our plumber. Thanks in advance. Larry H.
