John Deere L T versus L

Is it really worth it to spend the extra $600 or so on a John Deere LT model rather than the almost identical L model. Both come with the same guage steel deck, one piece welded frame, cast iron front axle, and Kohler engine. Is the LT version really built any better than the L version? I used the last of the Vasoline last night when Freda came over. Thanks!
